Tractor Deal!

This Fall we took the plunge and bought a tractor. After looking for months and months and visiting almost every dealer within 50 miles, I decided on the Kioti 2510 with the backhoe attachment. Within the first couple of months, I put more then 50 hours on the machine. I knew I would love having a tractor but did not realize how much I would use it. But to get this toy….. tool, I had to make a deal.

Here is the deal: the tractor has to pay for itself. So I started a side gig doing tractor work. Surprisingly, in the last couple months of Fall, I made enough money to make the payments through Winter. So this Spring I will get it back to work. I was a little surprised that most jobs I got hired for were residential work. Jobs like grading for sod, removing the grass strip by the street or cutting in a new u-shaped driveway. I don’t like working so close to houses and gas lines and all that, but I was ecstatic that I found a way to have it pay for itself so quick. This Spring I want to add a rototiller attachment to expand what I can offer. And a post hole digger, and maybe a forklift attachment. And a front grapple and of course I need to add a hydraulic top link. And a box blade, and a rock rake. Hmm, looks like I need to find some more work soon.
